Hi, y’all, it has been a minute since I have been on my blog but it is time to get this back up and running! Instagram definitely needed all of my time and that has been pretty successful for me! If you aren’t following me yet, make sure you do. I will make it easy for you to find me, just click here!
My study is the first room into my home and the room I am most proud of! I have somehow managed to make this room perfect, at least in my eyes. This is the room I can come sit down in and feel like its my room. This room inspires me so much, I hope to one day have the rest of my home this nice!
Never did I think my study would be loved by so many! This is my favorite space and I love spending time in here working on my computer, thinking up content plans! This is the room that usually remains clean from the rest of the house. The rest of my home is usually destroyed by my boys! My study has gone through a few changes the last few months thanks to many amazing companies and I will show you and go into a little more detail.
The Builtins
The most popular question I get is,”What color is your builtins?” The color I chose is Pitch Black by Farrow and Ball. By far the nicest shade of black I have come across. I am pretty picky with my paint colors, I was pretty worried about seeing purple or blue tones but Pitch Black is perfect. So perfect that I have used it in other areas around my home.
Do you want to know a secret about my builtins.. my husband and I made them using unfinished kitchen cabinets. My builtins, of course pre-covid, didn’t cost more than 700$ to make. This is by far my favorite DIY we have done to our home and in my opinion makes this room perfect! I love decorating the shelves for all holidays and I keep the neutral vibe when doing so.
The Desk
My desk is the next popular question I am always getting asked about. It is such a beautiful desk, unfortunately I am not able to source where the desk is from and I also gave it a makeover! My in-laws gave me this desk, they had planned on getting rid of it and I was usually flipping furniture back then so when I found this out, I asked for it. The desk is originally cherry wood, I decided to stip the top of it and I left it in its natural state. I did not seal it because I was worried that the reddish tones would come out again. It has been left unsealed for 6 years now and I don’t have any problems with it. I painted the bottom with Annie Sloan chalk paint in her Paris Grey and did a dry brush technique on top with her pure white and this was the result! I truly love it!
The Gallery Wall
I was given this beautiful gallery wall by Frameology. I named this wall “The Perfect Eight”, because I have eight photos here but also these Eight photos are some of my favorite photos! I love having gallery walls in my home! I am one of those moms that take a ton of photos and I just love framing them. There is no such thing as too many gallery walls plus it reminds me of what I am working hard for!
The Rug
This study continues to get better and better! Revival Rugs gifted me this beautiful, ONE OF A KIND rug for this space. The colors in this vintage rug is just the right amount for my study! When decorating my study I knew I wanted to keep the color scheme light and neutral. I wanted to keep my black builtins the focal point and color feature of the room. Knowing I have a one of a kind rug is pretty dang awesome. Never in a million years did I ever think that would happen for me!
The Sign
One of the more simple but one of my favorite gifts in my study is the custom made sign by Heritage Sign Co. Absolutely gorgeous work and I was so happy to have worked with them and get this sign made. It goes perfect on my desk! Since my study is the first room as you walk into my home, I am immediately greeted with this personalized sign!
This space is fixing to come to life for the holidays!! I am beyond excited for it. Make sure you don’t miss that post!
