My kitchen nook has always been one of the more complicated areas to decorate. It is such a small space and usually is where my two little ones like to hang out and play and eat. I love to go all out with decorating this small space for them every holiday but I do try to stay in the same color scheme with the rest of the main area of our home.
Of course, its usually neutral palette and this seems to be the palette for everyone this year. I love working with neutrals but in this space I don’t mind bringing in some color. I love table scapes but sometimes they get the best of me. I have to go two or three rounds of working with it before I figure it out.
Fall Table
This is my neutral fall tablescape, I love it!! For this one, I went with a lot of layering, the tablecloths, the fall garlands. I love adding layers to most of my tablescapes! Layering makes it look fuller! Most of the decor came from Hobby Lobby and Target! Those gold candle holders have to be my all time favorite! I use them all year round! I bought them from Hobby Lobby a year ago but they no longer sell the gold candle sticks. I really would love to have more!
Neutral Halloween Table
Do any of y’all keep your Halloween decor the same each year? I try to reuse all of my decor and just add new florals or a new tablecloth. A tablecloth goes a long way in my opinion, its like a rug! That one single tablecloth can change the entire look! I decided to reuse my Hearth and Hand tablecloth again! I just love the color combination used here and its plaid!
I went the simple route with decorating my table for Halloween. It is a small space and table so I didn’t want it to seem too crowded. In this photo you can’t see it but I have a wall tree with bench right across from it and it is all decked out for Halloween! The black pumpkin in the center was a craft pumpkin I brought from Michaels and painted it with some left over black paint! I wish I could have bought more but they are all out of stock!
The Bat Fold
I really wanted to get creative here and decided to make these bat napkins! I had seen this on Pinterest and I thought it was so cute! You can find a video of it here! These didn’t last very long, my boys wanted to try making the bat napkins and well the rest is history! It definitely adds to the Halloween theme!
My dining room is under construction right now otherwise I would have had more time to decorate! I am trying to have my dining room completed by mid October. I can’t wait to show everyone the before and after of it!
