WOW, it has been a while since writing on my blog but what better way to getting back into it than with a dining room refresh. First of all I must say I have been living a dream on Instagram and I had so many amazing brands help me out with this dining room refresh, I could not of done it without them.
When we moved into our home about three and half years ago, I did not know which direction I wanted to take with the dining room. It was just a beige room and had some decent natural light which I loved, I knew this room had potential but it actually ended up turning out better than I imagined.
I have a bad habit of watching HGTV, or Fixer Upper and immediately getting in a DIY mood and that is what happened with my first refresh of the dining room. It was about a week before Christmas and I was watching he fixer upper and I saw a black room. Fell in love with it and I had black paint on hand from when I painted my fireplace. I got this awesome idea of painting my dining room black. I started to freak out mid-ways through of course but I ended up loving it and so did Instagram. I love the new ball dining room but I did miss the airy and bright feel. My black dining room lasted about a year before getting a refresh.. and what a refresh it got!
Such a transformation!! I knew I wanted a white dining room. So I went with my favorite white paint color from Benjamin Moore (Simply White), my all time favorite white. Looks great in every room! You can easily get a color match at Lowes and it will look great! I have used both paints, original Benjamin Moore and color match in the Lowes brand and It looks exact!
Another project I knew I wanted to do was to make beams! It was a dream to have beams in my dining room. I was lucky enough to have partnered with Ryobi on this DIY. It still feels like a dream. Making the beams I will get into another time but it definitely changed the look to my dining room and was a complete game changer.
