Trends are always changing, whether it is for fashion, hair, or home decor! Changing is fun, I LOVE change, but for those of us on a budget it kinda stinks. Home trends last a couple of years if that are always changing whether its paint colors for the home, accents, textiles, cabinetry the list goes on. I put together a kitchen decor/wish board that might help with some of us transitioning from winter to spring decor.
2022 Spring decor might surprise some of us, we have a couple of come backs from a few years ago, out with the painted furniture in with the raw wood, out with the white back with the Greige. I know.. when can I give my paint brush a break! Here are a few tips or items you can start shopping for . All home decor items I have chosen are items I would buy or have in my home.
Wood furniture vs painted furniture: A few years back everyone wanted to paint their furniture the color of the rainbow. Chalk paint was the IT thing to do. I remember I went crazy over refurnishing furniture, chalk painting everything, going out and finding free furniture and making it look absolutely beautiful and flipping it. It was therapeutic to me and even though chalk paint furniture seems to be going bye bye I don’t think I would ever give it up. In 2022 you will see much more wood in furniture. Raw or matte wood look is definitely in.
Accent decor for 2022 whether it is for your kitchen or anywhere else in your house is going to be more earthy, wood ,clay, natural or should I say “organic” look. Subtle, neutral tone colors.
Wallpaper, we should have know this, wall paper really has never went bye bye, and over the past few years we are seeing it comeback, this year will probably be the year you find yourself wallpapering something.. definitely popular for 2022 especially with its new stick on and off applications.
Brass definitely started showing itself last year and it is still not backing away. You will definitely see much more brass, champagne booze accents and less of the matte black which use to be my go to fro hardware and light fixtures.
Colors as for paint neutrals will always be in, whether you’re a white paint person, off white, beige or greige this will alway be a more safer and common paint color route to take amongst designers. The last few years white had taken over many walls but Greige will be popping up on some walls this year again.. Greige..not grey.
Kitchen Cabinetry shaker style is still very popular amongst designers but you are starting to see less white kitchens, and more color in the kitchen for 2022. Bold colors I might add. We are seeing greens, and blues taking over and ever though this is bold, this might not last for too long.
Kitchen decor accents ticking stripe textiles, white and blue color schemes, natural woven accents or rugs, clear glass will be popping up in the kitchen this spring !!
