I finally decided to conquer decorating my son’s bedroom. James bedroom was basically an empty room, no shelving and no storage, along with an awkward layout which doesn’t help matters. Storage issues has helped me make the decision of fixing up his room before mine. Before making a mood board for rooms I get on Pinterest to see what is out there or what is trending. I am a very visual person when it comes to decorating, I need to see things. This also helps me get a grasp on which design direction I want to go in.
Blue hues just belong in a boys bedroom. I tend to go toward white and neutral colors when it comes to painting or decorating and then add color with accents, but for a boys room I am after a calming vibe and for that I need blue hues! Blues help add a calming and relaxing feeling to a space. I compiled a list of ten of the most calming, blue boy bedrooms out there to help inspire the next person who finds themselves stuck on adding color to the wall.
There is something unique in each of these pictures but they all share a shade of blue. From light blue to dark blue, with white accents, or shelving, each room feels boyish and calming in its own way. I am now going to get to work on my mood board for my 9 year olds bedroom and hopefully you follow or share this with someone who it might be useful to.
