First off I would like for you to know that this post has been sponsored by Beautifully Responsible Resilient Flooring but all opinions are entirely my own, with that being said let us move on!
Resilient Flooring is something I wish I would have been more educated with years ago. Our largest home investment in both our current and past home was flooring. It was a learning experience both times, but I think we are finally getting it right this time around. Third time is a charm right?
With our first home we purchased engineered hardwood floor throughout the entire house. This project was extremely expensive for us but something we saved up for. I remember we were so happy to finally get the carpet out of our house and from a designer stand point very excited to have the house looking more trendy. My husband and I had no idea the stress these floors would cause us. At that time we had a toddler and a dog. Any object, even a toy hot wheel that would fall on the floor would leave a small dent in the floor. I remember stressing over not to let anything fall on the floor and with a toddler that was extremely hard. The engineered hardwood would also scratch so easily with our dog running throughout the house. You can just imagine the disappointment we had with our engineered hardwood floor.
With our second home, we decided not to go with engineered hard wood flooring and chose solid hardwood flooring instead. Not only did this cost us thousands of dollars more than our previous flooring, installation was a longer process. We had to hire contractors to pour cement to level our floor which that itself took a couple of days. Our hardwood would floor was then glued down to the cement. As a mom of two dogs and boys I am on my feet most of the day and I have to wear my running shoes during the day at home because my feet will ache because our hardwood is so hard. Cleaning the hardwood floor and keeping it look nice is another issue I struggled with. My floor constantly looks dirty, and when I give it a deep clean it requires strong cleaning agents and a lot elbow grease to keep looking nice and that usually will only last a couple of days. My hardwood floors are only 3 years old but they look much older than that. I need a flooring that we can actually live a normal lifestyle on and be happy with for decades. This is where Resilient Floors come to the rescue!
