In the midst of redecorating and designing my son’s bedroom I have now hit the hardest challenge of all, choosing a paint colors. I can’t move on with color schemes with bedding and accents until I know which paint direction I want to go in. Most of my house is neutral, mainly whites, and in his room I wanted to add some color.
Light blues and grayish blues set off a calming, relaxing and inviting feeling to a space. Of course we would all want our kids bedrooms to feel calming to where they just want to go spend time in there or just feel relaxed and calmed in their space, wouldn’t that be awesome if just adding some light blue paint to the wall was able to make that kinda magic happen!!
Colors have an impact on us psychologically and light blue hues tends to calm us, give us a feeling of freshness, great concentration, contributes to a good mood, peacefulness, oceans and skies. Blue colors would fit in to any room but preferably belongs in a bedroom or bathroom and that is exactly how I feel about where I want to add it in my house.
Benjamin Moore has always been my go to for paints/paint colors. I am pretty sure I have tried all the brands or most of them and Benjamin Moore is the brand I have been sticking with for the past 10 years, or when home ownership started. Benjamin Moore’s most expensive paint, Aura, never fails, and their least expensive, Regal, also never fails, their paint is just amazing. I am in no way a professional painter but with so many trial and errors with paint brands/colors, I have learned that my paint application goes on easier with Benjamin Moore, coverage is great, colors are beautiful!
Remember to always sample paint a portion of your wall and look at your sample throughout the day and at night to make sure you truly love it. Natural and artificial light plays a huge role in your color as well as A.M. and P.M.
Happy Painting!
