Each decorating season that comes my dining room is my favorite room to decorate. It is the first room I decorate every time. Maybe we use this room the most on holidays, aside from the kitchen. Kitchen doesn’t count.. we’ve gotta cook in there! Here are some Easter decorating ideas that I used for decorating my dining room.
This Easter will be the first year I have had to decorate my dining room while my walls are black. Right before Christmas I got the urge to paint part of my dining room black, I love it. Christmas decor went great in there but for Spring and Easter I am little lost with decorating.
Easter is usually colorful, light bright, pastel colors all that good stuff. For my black walls I decided to keep the Easter decor in the neutral zone. You might notice I ran out of garland for my chandelier I was too excited on writing this post. I couldn’t wait til I bought more Easter garland.
I painted the top half of my dining room Farrow & Ball in Pitch Black (matte) , it a pure beautiful black with no hues of blue or purple showing. I am really picky with my paint colors, if I choose Black it better look black, if I choose white, well that better look white. I do tons of research when choosing my colors and sampling. The matte finish of the black paint makes these dark walls look velvety. It truly is beauty on a wall!
The bottom part of my wall is Simply White by Benjamin Moore in eggshell, this is my go to white color. I absolutely love this white, no yellow or pink hues just white. Not a stark white either, its perfect. I went eggshell with this color well because I have two dogs and two BOYS and well one thinks he is an artist and my white walls have to be wiped down very often.
For my tablescape, this is always where I have most fun, I picked all neutral decor to have on the top of my table. I really enjoy decorating with plates and dinnerware, I usually have all that on hand so it saves me money from spending on decor to cover my extra long dining table top. White dinnerware was exactly what I needed in here.
I found these gorgeous glitter eggs at Homegoods, I got so excited when I saw them and they were only 6.99 for 12!!! It can’t get any better than that. I had planned on making eggs myself for decor similar to these, but this beat the mess!
There isn’t much neutral Easter decor at the stores which made decorating in here challenging but still so much fun. I just had to use my noggin a little big more. I found the beige carrots at hobby lobby so cute! I decided to place these adorable carrots inside my white cup, on both ends of my table.
My Amazon gold bunnies was a must when I saw them online. The gold bunny also came with a smaller bunny, perfect match. I placed both bunnies on top of stacked plates to help give them more height. I am all about proportion when it comes to decorating.
Do any of y’all like adding garland to your chandeliers? I love it it just adds to the room. I found this neutral color bead garland at Hobby Lobby. When I saw the beads I knew I had to have it! Super cute, just disappointed I didn’t buy a third.
In my dining room I have two faux leather accent chairs, only cause I didn’t have another place for them, our upstairs is under construction, and well we always end up needing more seating in here. The pillow cover I found at Amazon and it was my first time buying pillow covers from Amazon but I am so happy I did. The quality exceeded my expectations along with price. I chose not to go Easter theme on the pillow cover and opted to get beige plaid so I can use all year round, well until winter. You can shop for those pillows and more here.
For the floral I knew I didn’t want to much color with my arrangement, I definitely wanted green, green and black is an awesome combo, but this wasn’t enough, I still wanted more color. I decided to add some lavender and it was the perfect match for my lamb’s ear stems and my dark moody dining room.
So I am very happy with the way my dining room turned out and I think my little angel was too. Hope everyone enjoys decorating their home for Easter.
Best Easter wishes from us.
